Argentina U-17s Exit Qatar World Cup

The Argentina national football team has been in impressive form since their World Cup victory. Their under-17 squad, aiming for a similar triumph, began their campaign in Qatar with high hopes. However, they were eliminated after losing to Mexico.

In the knockout stage, Argentina drew 2-2 with Mexico in regular time but were defeated 4-2 in a tiebreaker, ending their tournament journey.

During the group stage, Argentina displayed outstanding performances, securing victories against Belgium (3-2), Tunisia (1-0), and Fiji (7-0), which advanced them to the knockout rounds. However, their World Cup dream was shattered there.

From Group F, Mexico progressed to the round of 16. Saudi Arabia was level on three points, but Mexico advanced due to fair play ranking. Mexico earned their three points with a 1-0 win over Ivory Coast, having lost to South Korea and Switzerland.

Argentina’s failure in the knockout tiebreaker determined their fate. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Messi-inspired young side exited before the quarter-finals.
