Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman has urged members of the EME Corps to enhance their skills through modern and up-to-date training, preparing themselves to face the challenges of the twenty-first century. He made these remarks at the EME Corps Annual-2025 Commanders’ Conference, held yesterday at the conference hall of the Mechanical Building at the EME Centre and School in Saidpur Cantonment, Nilphamari.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the conference, the Army Chief addressed the unit commanders and other senior officials, highlighting the EME Corps’ proud heritage, achievements, and contributions to national service. He provided guidance for the development and modernisation of the corps and expressed hope that every member of the corps would set exemplary standards in serving the nation in the future.
In his address, the Chief emphasised that in the twenty-first century, every member must acquire strategic thinking, technological awareness, and the ability to operate modern equipment efficiently. He noted that while preserving the corps’ legacy is vital, obtaining training and education meeting international standards is equally important.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the EME Centre and School, the Army Chief was welcomed by the GOC of Army Training and Doctrine Command, the Colonel Commandant of the EME Corps and Chairman of REB, the GOC of the 66th Infantry Division and Area Commander of Rangpur Area, and the Commandant of the EME C&S. Members and officials of the corps attended the event and engaged in detailed discussions on military training, capability enhancement, and future planning of the corps.
According to the Army Chief, through modern technology, strategic skills, and collaborative efficiency, the EME Corps can contribute significantly both nationally and internationally. He added that each member must work with professional integrity and a strong sense of responsibility to strengthen the country’s defence capability. The speech reinforced the importance of continuous skill development, technological adaptation, and leadership excellence for all corps members.
