According to police sources, the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. when the control room of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station received intelligence that a group of suspected snatchers had gathered near the park area, apparently preparing to carry out robberies targeting late-night passers-by. Upon noticing the presence of law enforcement, the suspects attempted to flee using an auto-rickshaw. A motorbike patrol team then pursued the vehicle through nearby streets. In the confrontation, Sub-Inspector Samsuzzoha Sarker sustained injuries to his left shoulder, while Constable Hridoy Barua, attached to the public order management unit, suffered a stab wound beneath his left armpit. The injured officers were first taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for emergency treatment.
