Bangladesh Election Schedule Set to Be Announced Soon!

The Bangladesh Election Commission has convened an essential meeting to finalise the timetable for the 13th National Parliamentary elections and the upcoming referendum. The session began at 10:45 am on Sunday, 7 December, at the Commission’s headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.

Chief Election Commissioner and four Election Commissioners, along with the EC Secretary and senior secretariat officials, attended the high-level discussion. The primary focus was to review the progress of all election preparations, including the announcement of the official schedule and organisational logistics.

Officials also finalised arrangements for the postal ballot system, ensuring smooth distribution and collection of ballot papers. A crucial aspect of the meeting was the emphasis on close coordination with field administrators to guarantee the highest levels of readiness for both electoral processes. The discussion highlighted strategies to improve communication, planning, and execution across all levels of the electoral infrastructure.

Ten key topics were discussed during the session, covering preparatory measures before and after the announcement, the state of field readiness, administrative appointments of Returning Officers and Assistants, and specific measures for referendum management.

This meeting is a continuation of the preparatory review conducted on Saturday at the EC Secretariat, which examined the progress of all preparatory work for the upcoming elections. A scheduled meeting between the President and the Election Commission on 10 December is expected to pave the way for the official announcement of the election schedule.
