Six of Bangladesh’s premier cricketers have secured places in this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026, set to commence on 26 March. Ahead of the tournament, there was considerable speculation over whether the players would receive clearance from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in the form of a No Objection Certificate (NOC), and if granted, the duration for which they could participate. It has now been confirmed that, with the exception of last-minute addition Tanzid Tamim, five players have received BCB approval, valid until 12 April.

| Tanzid Tamim | Last-minute addition | Draft Invitation | NOC not yet confirmed |
Lahore Qalandars secured left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman on a direct contract, while Parvez Hossain Emon, Rishad Hossain, and Nahid Rana were acquired through the player auction. Shariful Islam received his first franchise call-up just days ago, marking him as the fifth Bangladeshi player in the league. If all goes according to plan, left-arm pacer Nahid Rana will line up alongside seasoned campaigners in Peshawar Zalmi.
With Bangladesh recently concluding a victorious home series against Pakistan, the national team currently faces a lull in international fixtures. This has allowed the players to enjoy Eid holidays before returning to action. Bangladesh is set to host New Zealand in the second week of April for a three-match ODI and T20I series. Consequently, Mustafizur and Rishad are expected to return from Pakistan ahead of that series.
A reliable BCB source confirmed to the media that the NOC has been approved for all five players, though the document is time-bound due to the impending New Zealand series. This ensures that the cricketers gain franchise exposure while safeguarding their availability for international duty.
The PSL 2026 will provide Bangladesh’s emerging talents with a platform to hone skills alongside experienced international stars. It is also a significant opportunity for these players to demonstrate their abilities on a competitive, global stage, potentially enhancing their prospects for future national selection.
By balancing franchise commitments with international obligations, the BCB aims to ensure both player development and team preparedness, making this year’s PSL participation a strategically important step for Bangladesh cricket.
