Mohammad Alwar Uddin Haji Abu Syed, a Bangladeshi expatriate residing in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, has finally realised a six-year-long dream, winning AED 1 million (approximately BDT 3.4 crore) in the popular “Big Ticket Abu Dhabi” lottery.
Alwar Uddin has been living in Al Ain for the past 21 years. Over the last six years, he and eight friends formed a small lottery syndicate, purchasing at least one ticket every month. Despite years of persistence without any significant success, he never gave up. His patience and consistency were ultimately rewarded when he struck lucky in Series 283 — a testament to his unwavering determination.
Speaking after his win, Alwar Uddin said, “I was completely stunned. After all these years of trying, I honestly did not expect this.
