A Bangladeshi man, Mosharraf Hossain (38), has died in a missile attack on a residential building in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia. He was a resident of Kirtankhola Madhyapara village, Sakhipur Upazila, Tangail, and the son of Md. Sujat Ali.
The tragic incident took place on Sunday night around 9:00 PM Bangladesh time. The Saudi Civil Defence Agency confirmed the attack through a social media post on platform X, and local colleagues who worked alongside Mosharraf relayed the news to his family.
Mosharraf had left Bangladesh nearly eight years ago to seek employment abroad and had returned home only two years ago for a brief visit. In a heartbreaking detail, he had spoken with his elder son Mahim (14) via video call just thirty minutes before the attack.

During the video call, Mosharraf advised Mahim to purchase clothes and items for the upcoming Eid festival, promising to send the money later. Tragically, the missile strike occurred before he could follow through.
Mahim recounted, “Around 8:30 PM, I spoke to my father over video call. He asked me to get the Eid clothes and said he would send the money afterwards. But just half an hour later, he was killed in the attack.”
Expressing her grief, Mosharraf’s wife, Kobori Akter, said, “How will I manage with our two children? Who will take care of us now?”
His father, Md. Sujat Ali, added, “I have lost my son. At least I want his body returned to Bangladesh so I can see him one final time.”
The Upazila Executive Officer of Sakhipur, Abdullah Al Roni, confirmed that government authorities are in constant contact with the relevant Saudi offices. Efforts are underway to repatriate Mosharraf’s body promptly, and the family will receive all forms of government support to cope with this devastating loss.
