BNP Leaders in Bogura Hold Prayers for Khaleda Zia’s Health

In a show of solidarity and support, the district unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Bogura organised a special prayer session on Friday (28 November) for the recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The prayers took place at the Baitur Rahman Central Mosque following Friday congregational prayers, reflecting the party’s concern for her health and the nation’s well-being.

The event was attended by senior BNP leaders, including party chairperson’s adviser and former Mayor of Bogura Advocate AKM Mahbubur Rahman; former MP Helaluzzaman Talukdar Lalu; district BNP President and former Mayor Rezaul Karim Badsha; BNP National Executive Committee member VP Saiful Islam; Ali Azgar Talukdar Hena; Zainal Abedin Chan; former district convener Advocate Saiful Islam; district BNP Vice-President MR Islam Swadhin; Maftun Ahmed Khan Rubel; Organising Secretary Zahidul Islam Helal; and Kalam Azad, divisional coordinator of BNP Media Cell for Rajshahi-Rangpur.

Other attendees included district BNP Joint Secretary Touhidul Alam Mamun, Sheikh Tahauddin Nahin, former district Jubo Dal convener Khademul Islam Khadem, district Krishok Dal Secretary Enamul Haq Sumon, and additional party members and activists. District Chhatra Dal President Habibur Rashid Sandhan Sarkar and General Secretary MR Hasan Palash were also present, demonstrating wide participation across the party’s organisational structure.

The prayers were led by Mufti Maulana Monwar Hossain, Khatib of Baitur Rahman Central Mosque, who implored Allah for Khaleda Zia’s speedy recovery and for peace, stability, and guidance for the country and BNP leaders. Khaleda Zia is currently battling pneumonia, with complications affecting her heart and lungs, and remains under intensive care at Air Care Hospital in Dhaka. The prayer session emphasised unity among party members, reflecting their concern and collective hope for the former Prime Minister’s return to health.
