BRAC Bank Concludes Month-Long CMSME Training in Sirajganj

BRAC Bank, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Bangladesh Bank, has successfully concluded a month-long intensive training programme designed for aspiring entrepreneurs in the country’s Cottage, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (CMSME) sector. The initiative aimed to equip young and dynamic business owners with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to strengthen their ventures and ensure sustainable growth.

This capacity-building programme was organised under the “Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme” (SICIP), an initiative of the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance. Bangladesh Bank provided technical guidance and implementation support throughout the programme, ensuring high-quality delivery and relevance to local business contexts.

The closing ceremony for the second batch of participants took place on 4 December 2025 at a prominent hotel in Sirajganj. During the event, 25 entrepreneurs received certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the training. Senior officials from both Bangladesh Bank and BRAC Bank were present to honour the participants.

The event was graced by Mr. Nawshad Mustafa, Director of the SME and Special Programme Division at Bangladesh Bank, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking at BRAC Bank, and Mr. Md. Ayub Ali, Deputy Director and Deputy Programme Director (DPD) of the SME and Special Programme Division at Bangladesh Bank, attended as Special Guests. The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Biplob Kumar Biswas, Head of Northern SME Banking at BRAC Bank.

From BRAC Bank, senior officials included Mr. S.M. Alamgir Hossain (Head of Central SME & Distributor Finance), Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam (Head of Southern SME, Cottage & Micro Business), and Mr. Mahbubur Rahman (Head of Eastern SME, Risk & Chief Bank Assurance Officer).

The participants underwent extensive training in entrepreneurial and managerial skills, business development strategies, and operational excellence. The programme, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and implemented by the SME and Special Programme Division of Bangladesh Bank, focused on fostering practical capabilities for business growth and long-term sustainability.
