Man Stabbed to Death at Mediation Over Land Dispute in Naogaon

In Naogaon’s Sadar Upazila, Golam Hossain (52) was stabbed to death during a mediation over a land dispute. The incident occurred on Wednesday night in Sunlia Malonchi village of Dubalhati Union. Golam Hossain, the son of Siraj Uddin, died on his way to Naogaon Sadar Hospital.

According to the victim’s cousin, Noyon Islam, two brothers from the village, Harunur Rashid and Azad, had a long-standing land dispute. Recently, a mediation session was held with a lawyer, during which Golam Hossain sided with Azad.

Later on Wednesday night, an argument broke out between Golam Hossain and Harunur. During the altercation, Harunur’s son Antar stabbed Golam Hossain. He succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital.

Nur-e-Alam Siddiqui, Officer-in-Charge of Naogaon Sadar Police Station, stated that police inspected the scene that night. The body was sent to the morgue, and after autopsy, it will be handed over to the family. Preparations for filing a case are underway.
