BTS Confirms Australian Dates for 2027 World Tour

The globally renowned K-pop ensemble BTS has officially confirmed the Australian leg of their ongoing global concert series, titled ‘BTS WORLD TOUR: ARIRANG.’ This announcement marks a significant milestone in the group’s post-hiatus era, as they prepare to return to Australian shores for the first time in a decade. The group last performed in the country in 2017 during their ‘WINGS’ tour.

According to the official announcement released via the group’s dedicated fan forum platform, the Australian leg will consist of four major performances scheduled for February 2027. The tour will be concentrated in the cities of Melbourne and Sydney, with two consecutive shows allocated to each city.

Context of the ‘ARIRANG’ Era

This tour follows the release of the group’s latest studio album, ‘ARIRANG’, which debuted earlier this year. The album features 14 tracks and represents the group’s first collective studio effort since their official hiatus began four years ago. During the intervening period, all seven members completed their mandatory military enlistment in South Korea, a legal requirement for male citizens. Throughout their service period, members also pursued individual creative projects and released solo music.

To support the launch of the new album, BTS released a music video for the lead track, ‘SWIM.’ Notably, the video features American actress Lili Reinhart, known for her role in the television series Riverdale.

Global Tour Progress

The ‘BTS WORLD TOUR: ARIRANG’ is currently cited as one of the largest touring productions in the group’s career. The tour commenced in April with inaugural performances in South Korea. Since the opening shows, the group has travelled to various international venues, performing a setlist that integrates new material from the Arirang album with established hits from their previous discography.

The inclusion of Australia in the 2027 itinerary confirms the group’s intent to re-engage with their Oceania-based audience. As the February dates approach, the four-show run in Melbourne and Sydney is expected to be a focal point of their global activities in the coming year.
