On the auspicious occasion of Victory Day, Bangladesh Television (BTV) proudly presents a special programme titled ‘Immortal History’, an artistic tribute celebrating the nation’s glorious struggle for independence and its rich cultural heritage through the universal language of music. Far more than a conventional musical show, this production represents the creative confluence of four generations of artists, offering audiences an immersive cultural festival that resonates with both heart and history.
The programme features ten entirely original compositions, with lyrics crafted by the esteemed songwriter and host, Adhira Jahan. The melodies and musical arrangements have been masterfully orchestrated by renowned composer Alam Ara Minu, whose innovative approach and creative vision bring a refreshing depth to each performance. Lending their voices to these vibrant songs are some of Bangladesh’s most celebrated vocalists, including Samina Chowdhury, Fahmida Nabi, Rizia Parvin, Rumana Islam, Agun, Alam Ara Minu, Rajib, Muhin, Marufa Trishna, Sozib, Sukanya, Swarlipi, Raya, Anannya, Mauri, and Laboni. Adding to this stellar ensemble, the extraordinarily talented Ujjal enriches the musical tapestry with his unique vocal touch, creating moments of unforgettable harmony.
Hosting the programme, Adhira Jahan infuses each segment with energy and colour. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “BTV has always been at the heart of my creative life. I began my career in front of this channel’s camera as a young artist in 2004. Since then, I have undertaken numerous projects, but Immortal History stands as one of the proudest achievements of my life.”
Composer Alam Ara Minu commented, “This project has deepened my dedication to music. Every artist conveyed that the synergy between lyrics and melody seamlessly enhanced the entire performance. These songs have elevated their artistry to its highest expression.”
Singer Samina Chowdhury shared, “Singing these tender, heartfelt songs has been an absolute joy.” Fahmida Nabi added, “It is truly heartwarming that two women—one lyricist and one composer—have collaborated to create such a rich and unique celebration of our culture.”
BTV will broadcast this special programme today, 16 December, offering viewers an unforgettable journey that celebrates patriotic pride, artistic excellence, and the timeless heritage of Bangladesh’s independence. ‘Immortal History’ promises to be a radiant homage to the nation’s past while inspiring the generations of the future.
