Narayanganj, Bangladesh – A chef was brutally murdered in the Fatulla area of Narayanganj Sadar Upazila on Monday night, in an attack that has shocked the local community. The victim, Rayhan Molla, aged 45, was attacked with sharp weapons around 8:00 PM on the road of the “Isdair New Connection” locality.
According to the victim’s eldest son, Sabbir Molla, the attack may have been premeditated. “About a month ago, my father had a violent altercation with a local drug dealer named Razzak. During that incident, Razzak stabbed my father in the leg. Since then, I had warned my father not to go near Razzak’s area. Despite this, last night my father went there, and assailants attacked him with knives, leaving him fatally injured,” Sabbir said. He added that Razzak could be involved in the murder.
Medical personnel confirmed the cause of death. Dr. Md. Shahadat Hossain, a physician in the Emergency Department of the 300-bed Narayanganj General Hospital, said: “The deceased sustained multiple sharp weapon injuries to the head and body. Excessive bleeding caused his death before he could receive medical attention.”
Law enforcement has launched an investigation into the incident. Sub-Inspector Abu Raihan of Fatulla Model Police Station stated that the body had been recovered and sent to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. “Rayhan worked as a chef. His three sons are employed at a local garage. We are in the process of identifying and apprehending the individuals involved in this heinous crime,” he said.
The violent murder has raised serious concerns in the community over safety in areas reportedly controlled by local criminal elements. Residents have called for increased police patrolling and swift action to prevent further incidents.
