Celebrating 25 Years: INTIM’s Musical and Humanitarian Journey

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — The renowned Malaysian nasyid ensemble INTIM commemorated a remarkable milestone with a Silver Jubilee concert, marking 25 years of musical excellence and social commitment. The event, titled “Concert Twenty-Five Tahun INTIM Nur Kasih”, took place on Sunday at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, attracting an eager audience of music lovers and philanthropists alike.

The evening was distinguished not only by outstanding performances but also by a strong humanitarian message. INTIM made a charitable donation of 10,000 Malaysian Ringgit to Persatuan Kebajikan Al-Fikrah Malaysia, emphasising the power of music to inspire societal benefit. The initiative was realised in collaboration with legendary singer Datuk M. Nasir and the concert organisers, ICON Entertainment. Reflecting on the gesture, INTIM member Rahim stated, “This donation represents our heartfelt belief that music’s joy should be accompanied by tangible contributions to the community.”

A poignant moment occurred when Datuk M. Nasir presented the symbolic cheque before joining INTIM on stage for a stirring rendition of his classic song “Bonda”. The performance resonated deeply, evoking themes of maternal love, cultural heritage, and communal connection, perfectly encapsulating the evening’s ethos of music as a medium for compassion and human solidarity.

Musically, the concert was a retrospective of INTIM’s 25-year journey, featuring over 25 of their most beloved nasyid pieces. The repertoire spanned decades of spiritual storytelling, melodic innovation, and lyrical devotion, engaging the audience in a rich tapestry of rhythm, harmony, and meaning. Special guest performers Nazri Johani and Gigi Kirana further enhanced the programme, adding dynamic vocal textures and stage charisma that elevated the evening’s artistic vibrancy.

For expatriate Bangladeshi attendees, the event carried an additional layer of significance. Beyond entertainment, it provided spiritual solace and a poignant sense of cultural belonging, bridging the emotional distance from home. Many described the experience as both uplifting and restorative, a rare occasion where music served as a conduit for community and shared memory.
