The much-anticipated Zubin Nautiyal concert at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on Saturday descended into chaos, with reports of extreme mismanagement and overcrowding. Eyewitnesses claimed that security arrangements were wholly inadequate for the throngs of enthusiastic fans, resulting in panic, injuries, and police intervention.

Even before the concert began, large crowds had gathered, overwhelming organisers and security personnel. Struggling to maintain control, security staff reportedly closed all entry gates, which only exacerbated the tension among attendees. The situation spiralled further, forcing police to resort to baton charges to restore order.

At least ten individuals, including a journalist, were injured during the disorder and were swiftly admitted to local hospitals for treatment. Eyewitnesses and organisers pointed out that such incidents are not unprecedented. Previous large-scale concerts and celebrity events in the region have also suffered from crowd-control failures, raising concerns about public safety, preparedness, and event management protocols.

Residents and concert-goers expressed frustration at the lack of effective security measures, clear entry management, and emergency response plans, which are essential when hosting events attracting thousands of attendees. Local authorities have pledged to investigate the incident and review arrangements for future events to prevent a recurrence of such dangerous situations.
