Countdown to voting begins, security and preparations in full swing at Rajbari

As the 13th National Parliamentary Election draws near, Rajbari district is abuzz with palpable excitement and frenetic activity. The district stadium has been transformed into a bustling nerve centre, orchestrating the final preparations under the close supervision of the Election Commission. From the early hours, officials have been meticulously overseeing the distribution of election materials, ensuring that every detail is accounted for before polling begins.

Inside the stadium, presiding officers were observed receiving their responsibilities in a disciplined and methodical manner. With ballot papers set aside for final verification, they collected essential materials such as ballot boxes, seals and stamps, voter lists, official forms, and other necessary documents. The stadium precincts were maintained under strict order, with a robust security presence. Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) personnel were deployed across the area to enforce law and order. A security officer on duty remarked, “We are operating strictly under the instructions of the presiding officers. Our priority is to prevent any disorder and to assist elderly or ailing voters to cast their votes smoothly and without hindrance.”

According to sources from the District Election Office, adequate security measures have been implemented at every polling centre. The administration has emphasised that all preparations have been made to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election. While some polling stations may be subject to enhanced security oversight, no specific centres have yet been flagged as high-risk at this stage.
