Rock history’s iconic band, Def Leppard, is gearing up to launch its third Las Vegas residency in the new year, marking another milestone in a career spanning nearly five decades. Formed in 1977, the band has traversed 49 years of rock glory, and this latest residency promises to take their live performances to unprecedented heights.
Bassist Rick Savage shared, “We have more than enough songs to carry us through to the end of the decade. Aside from a handful of tracks from two of our albums, everything else is ready.”
The band is currently in the creative process of writing new material, aiming to release their 13th studio album either later this year or in the early months of next year. Savage added, “The last 20% of a project always takes 80% of the time. So we’re still writing, recording, and refining.”
Las Vegas Residency: New Stage, Timeless Hits
Frontman Joe Elliott revealed that the upcoming Las Vegas shows have been entirely reimagined. Unlike the band’s previous five to six tours and past Vegas performances, this residency will feature not only their greatest hits but also songs that have not been performed since the 1990s. Fans will also hear the band’s new single, “Rejoice,” included in the show. Elliott said, “The show is truly incredible, offering audiences an entirely new dimension of experience.”
The residency also provides the band members with a long-awaited sense of permanence. Elliott reflected, “In 46 years of touring, we never had the chance to unpack our bags. Now, finally, we do. It’s a completely different world.”
Special Milestones: Albums and Anniversaries
The year 2026 holds multiple significant moments for Def Leppard:
