Delta Godrem to Represent Australia at Eurovision

Australia’s renowned singer Delta Goodrem has been confirmed as the country’s representative at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, set to take place this May in Vienna, Austria. The official announcement was made jointly by local broadcaster SBS and production company Beyond Productions. Goodrem is slated to perform her latest single, Eclipse, on the iconic stage of Vienna’s Wiener Stadthalle.

Given Goodrem’s international acclaim, expectations are high for Australia’s performance this year. Speaking about the opportunity, she stated, “It is a tremendous honour to represent Australia on one of the world’s largest and most emblematic stages. I am eagerly anticipating arriving in Vienna and making our country proud.”

The song Eclipse has been described in a press release as a reflection of “the rare moment where shadow and light converge; a symbol of clarity, harmony, and the full pursuit of one’s purpose.” The track was co-written by Delta Goodrem alongside Feras Al-Kaisi, Jonas Myrin, and Michael Catkin, with Catkin also taking on production duties.

The music video, directed by London-based filmmaker Liam Pethick, who was born in Melbourne and is known for his work with Ed Sheeran, was filmed across the sweeping sand dunes of Newcastle, New South Wales. Acclaimed creative producer Brian Parnell, noted for collaborations with Troye Sivan and Tame Impala, oversaw the production.

Goodrem’s career spans more than two decades, having signed her first record deal at the age of 15. She quickly rose to become one of Australia’s most iconic musical figures. Her debut album, Innocent Eyes, remains among the highest-selling albums in Australian history, yielding five number-one singles, with the album itself holding the top spot for over seven months.
