Dhaka Metropolitan Police Implements Special Traffic Plan for Parliament

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have announced comprehensive traffic management measures for the first session of the fifteenth National Parliament on Thursday, 12 March, to facilitate smooth movement around the Parliament area.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, 11 March, Deputy Police Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman, of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, stated that the session will involve the movement of the President, Prime Minister, Members of Parliament, foreign diplomats, political leaders, and other high-profile figures.

As a result, traffic is expected to increase significantly in key areas including Urojahaj Mor, Khajur Bagan, Manik Mia Avenue, Asadgate, and the July Memorial Museum (Ganobhaban) crossing. To mitigate congestion, the DMP Traffic Division will enforce temporary road diversions from 08:00 to 11:00.
