Dhaka Police Arrested 28 in Operation Devil Hunt

In a decisive security initiative, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) apprehended 28 individuals across the capital within the past 24 hours as part of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2. The operation targeted high-crime neighbourhoods under the jurisdictions of Mugdap, Banani, and Rupnagar police stations, aiming to curb criminal activities and enhance public safety.

According to an official DMP statement, Mugdap police conducted a focused operation on Thursday afternoon, detaining nine individuals aged between 18 and 32. The arrestees included Md. Salman Ahmed (19), Rifat Alam Munna (18), Md. Iman (25), Md. Mamun (20), Md. Mannan (23), Md. Sujon (32), Naimur Rahman Apan (28), Md. Aslam (26), and Md. Sagar (20).

Simultaneously, Banani police carried out raids in multiple locations, arresting seven suspects aged 19 to 50. Among them were Md. Sharif Mia (28), Md. Khorshed Alam (50), Md. Munshur Ali (35), Mohammad Ali (19), Shahinur Hossain (25), Md. Shabuj Mia (23), and Md. Rakib (20).

Rupnagar police also intensified their patrols, apprehending twelve individuals, including female suspects, aged between 20 and 35. Their identities are as follows: Mouli Akter Mallika (35), Md. Shrabon (20), Md. Raju (35), Mobarak Hossain (22), Md. Abdul Kaiyum (24), Md. Ashadul Islam (23), Md. Abir Hasan (28), Md. Mahibul Islam (26), Md. Ishrak Hossain Ifti (25), Md. Taibur Rahman (25), Md. Shabuj Mia (23), and Md. Mustakim Salehin Ekram Onto (24).

The DMP expressed optimism that continued enforcement will foster public confidence and reduce crime rates in the capital.
