A targeted anti-narcotics operation based on a precise intelligence report has resulted in the apprehension of an alleged drug dealer in Manikganj. Law enforcement officials successfully recovered 20 grams of heroin during the raid. The operation was executed on Wednesday, 20 May, at approximately 5:00 pm. A specialized team from the District Detective Branch (DB) carried out the raid in the Joyra area, located within the Manikganj Sadar Upazila. During the cordone-and-search operation, law enforcement personnel detained a suspect identified as Azizul Haq Ashiq, aged 28, from the western courtyard of a residence belonging to a local citizen, Mohammad Aliom Sarker. The apprehended individual is confirmed to be a permanent resident of the Paschim Seota area, which also falls under the jurisdiction of the Manikganj Sadar Upazila.

Command Structure and Tactical Execution

The tactical operation was executed under the direct guidance and strategic instructions of the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Manikganj, Mohammad Sarwar Alam. The mission was closely supervised by the In-charge of the District Detective Branch, Police Inspector (Unarmed) Manabendra Balo. On the ground, the raid was led and executed by Sub-Inspector (Unarmed) Asad Miah, along with his accompanying tactical team.

Upon detaining the suspect, Azizul Haq Ashiq, officers conducted a thorough body search and immediate area sweep. This procedure resulted in the discovery and subsequent seizure of 20 grams of a substance identified as heroin from his direct possession. The narcotics were officially catalogued as evidence on-site. Preliminary investigations conducted by the police revealed that the suspect is a habitual offender with a significant criminal record involving narcotics. Documentation indicates that he is currently facing four active criminal cases under the Narcotics Control Act, which are pending trial before the court.
