The blaze started at the factory in the Narikel Bagh area of Keraniganj. Firefighters reached the scene shortly after receiving the alert and began efforts to bring the flames under control. No casualties had been reported at the time of the latest information.
According to the Fire Service, the emergency call was received at around 12.25 pm. The first firefighting unit arrived at the factory within seven minutes, followed by four more units that joined the operation.
As the response continued, three additional units were dispatched to reinforce the teams already at the scene. A total of eight units are now working together to contain the fire.
The cause of the blaze has not yet been established. Authorities have also not provided details of the extent of the damage or confirmed whether the factory’s machinery, raw materials or finished products have been affected.
Fires at plastic manufacturing facilities can present particular challenges for emergency crews. Depending on the materials stored and the conditions at the site, flames may spread rapidly, while burning plastics can produce dense smoke that complicates firefighting and rescue operations. However, there is no confirmed information about the specific materials involved or the extent to which the fire has spread at Aman Plastic Factory.
The immediate priority remains bringing the fire under control and assessing the situation at the premises. The extent of any damage will be clearer once firefighters have completed their work and the site can be examined.
No information was immediately available on whether anyone was inside the factory when the fire started or whether neighbouring buildings had been affected. There was also no confirmed estimate of the financial losses.
The eight Fire Service units continue to work at the scene. Further details about the cause of the incident, the extent of the damage and any subsequent investigation are expected to emerge after the situation has been brought under control.
