Eleven-Party Alliance Embarks on Struggle for Freedom

Nasiruddin Patwari, the Chief Coordinator of the National Coordination Party (NCP), has declared that the era of servitude in national politics is over. Speaking on Monday morning, he asserted, “Politics of subjugation will no longer be tolerated—our eleven-party coalition will work solely in the cause of freedom.”

Patwari’s remarks came after he paid homage at the grave of the martyred Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, whose assassination remains unresolved. Criticising the state’s ongoing failure to identify and prosecute those responsible, he emphasised that the struggle initiated by Osman Hadi for justice and independence must now be renewed with vigour.

Addressing journalists, Patwari highlighted the persistent gaps in state accountability, pointing out that, despite the passage of significant time, the perpetrators of Hadi’s murder remain unpunished—a glaring failure of the justice system. He called upon citizens to unite in pursuit of justice and freedom, framing the campaign not merely as a political initiative but as a moral and civic imperative.

In a significant declaration, Patwari announced that the Shahbagh and Ramna areas of Dhaka-8 would henceforth be designated as “zones of freedom.” He warned that no acts of terrorism, extortion, or intimidation would be tolerated within these precincts. Citizens, students, and professionals alike were urged to step forward and resist injustice. According to him, the struggle for freedom transcends political demands—it encompasses ethics, security, and justice.

Patwari also stressed that the coalition would persist until all political murders, including Osman Hadi’s, were properly investigated and prosecuted. He voiced concerns regarding administrative impartiality, accusing the authorities of leaning towards specific political factions, thereby perpetuating partisan loyalties that undermine democratic governance. “We envision a Bangladesh where no individual becomes a pawn of power,” he asserted.

Looking ahead, the eleven-party alliance intends to execute a series of structured campaigns to organise their demands, strengthen direct communication with the populace, and advance the nation towards a more accountable and independent governance framework.
