A violent assault allegedly triggered by an extortion dispute has left two individuals seriously injured in Laxanpur বাজার, located in the Monohorganj উপজেলা of Cumilla. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on Monday, 16 March, when a സംഘം of স্থানীয় দুর্বৃত্ত reportedly stormed a ব্যবসা প্রতিষ্ঠান after failing to extract a substantial sum of money from its owner.
According to a formal complaint lodged with Monohorganj Police Station by businessman Jahangir Alam, a দল of প্রায় 10 to 15 individuals—allegedly led by স্থানীয় বাসিন্দা মো. জহির—along with সাত থেকে আট জন অজ্ঞাতপরিচয় সহযোগী, carried out a coordinated হামলা on his fertiliser and pesticide দোকান.
