Fishers Community Center (FCC), in collaboration with IU Health, officially launched its new insurance-based membership programme on Monday, 9 February. The initiative allows eligible participants to maintain their health, improve physical fitness, and stay socially connected, with direct coverage through their health insurance plans.
The insurance-based membership offers access to a range of nationally recognised programmes, including:
SilverSneakers
Renew Active
Silver&Fit
Prime
Active&Fit Enterprise
These programmes grant members full access to FCC’s comprehensive facilities, which are otherwise available to standard members.
| Facility | Details |
|---|---|
| Fitness Centre | State-of-the-art gym equipment and workout areas |
| Group Exercise Classes | Over 90 classes including Yoga, Zumba, Spinning, and more |
| Aquatics Facilities | Swimming pool and on-deck sauna |
| Sports Courts | Basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts |
| Complimentary City Amenities | The city’s first indoor walking track, two-storey indoor play area |
| Health Services | Fishers Health Department Clinic offering vaccinations, testing, and preventive care |
Participants in these programmes are not required to pay any monthly or joining fees directly to FCC. All fees are processed through the member’s insurance provider.
Mike Lindbloom, FCC Director, highlighted the significance of this partnership:
“By removing financial barriers, we are enabling more individuals to enjoy our state-of-the-art facilities. Our goal is to enrich the lives of every member of the community through fitness, aquatics, social engagement, and mental well-being.”
Spanning 105,000 square feet and located near Hoosier Road, FCC opened its doors last autumn. In addition to member-specific areas, the centre features the city’s first public indoor walking track, the Sahms Community Café, and a two-storey indoor play area supported by Riley Children’s Health. The on-site Fishers Health Department Clinic provides a range of preventive healthcare services, including COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, travel immunisations, testing, and other wellness programmes.
Registration Details:
Membership registration is conducted in person during regular operating hours. For additional assistance, the FCC membership team will hold extended registration hours in the Community Room and Program Room 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily until 13 February.
This new insurance-based membership programme opens a fresh horizon for Fishers residents, offering integrated opportunities for health improvement, physical fitness, and social engagement.
