Four Police Officers Injured in Shriepur Following Attack by Drug Dealers

In Shriepur, Gazipur, four police officers were injured during a raid on suspected drug traffickers, in an alarming escalation of local criminal activity. The assailants vandalised two police vehicles and managed to snatch drugs from two detainees. Following the incident, authorities arrested ten individuals, including two women.

The Shriepur police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mohammad Nasir Ahmed, confirmed the details on Thursday, 1 January. He stated that two separate cases have been filed: one relating to drug possession and trafficking, and another concerning assault on law enforcement officers and obstruction of official duties.

The attack occurred at around 10 pm on Wednesday, 31 December, in the area north of Maona Pier Ali College, within Shriepur Municipality. Police officers had been conducting a routine anti-drug operation when they approached the residence of local drug dealer Jahangir Hossain.
