Global Sensation BTS Announces March 2026 Return

The New Year is set to bring a wave of excitement for K-pop fans worldwide, as BTS officially confirms their comeback on 20 March 2026. The announcement, shared on 1 January by BigHit Entertainment via their Korean-language X account and translated into English, signals the end of a nearly four-year hiatus for the globally acclaimed boy band.

Fans of BTS have been eagerly counting down the days until members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook would complete their mandatory military service, reunite, and release fresh studio recordings. The news has sparked a surge of anticipation among the ARMY, who have long awaited the group’s return to the music scene.

For months, BTS members have been dropping hints about new music. In a Weverse update last November, RM teased the upcoming comeback, stating, “The music is coming out really well!! Everyone’s trying. Please look forward to it.” Jungkook added fuel to the excitement during an interview with Elle Korea, saying, “I think this spring will be more important than ever. So I sincerely hope you all have a safe and enjoyable spring.”

Following their discharge from South Korean military service in June 2025, Jungkook, RM, Suga, V, and Jimin reunited with J-Hope and Jin on camera to announce both a new album and an accompanying world tour. The group also confirmed that they would head straight into the studio to prepare for their 2026 comeback.

In a collective statement, BTS said: “We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year … We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”

During the group’s hiatus, each member also pursued individual musical projects, further expanding their creative range and fanbase.

BTS has consistently dominated the global music charts, boasting six No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, including the 2022 anthology Proof and their most recent full studio album, 2020’s Be. The band also claims six No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Their extraordinary achievements include being named IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year in both 2020 and 2021, becoming the first act to win the accolade in consecutive years.

With this comeback, BTS promises not only to reignite their chart dominance but also to reconnect with their worldwide fanbase through both new music and an international tour, making spring 2026 a season of celebration for K-pop enthusiasts.
