A local mobile phone trader, Mizanur Rahman Molla, 48, from Ghosherchar in Gopalganj Sadar, was discovered dead, buried beneath soil in a local graveyard, 21 days after his disappearance.
Mizanur, a well-known figure in the local business community, vanished on the night of 8 November after receiving a phone call from his business partner, Zahid Molla. According to police, Zahid allegedly lured Mizanur with the pretext of repaying an outstanding debt. From that evening, Mizanur’s whereabouts remained unknown, causing mounting concern among his family and friends.
Law enforcement authorities, using technological tracking and investigative techniques, located Mizanur’s decomposed body yesterday evening. Following confirmation of his identity by family members, the body was transported to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Zahid Molla has been arrested in connection with the case, and police confirmed that further suspects involved in the crime would be apprehended shortly. Officer-in-Charge Shah Alam stated, “We are conducting a thorough investigation and are committed to bringing all responsible individuals to justice.”
