Grian Chatten Covers Massive Attack for Peaky Blinders Film

Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten has lent his voice to a new cover of Massive Attack’s iconic track “Angel” for the soundtrack of the forthcoming film adaptation, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The movie, a cinematic extension of the acclaimed Peaky Blinders series, is set for theatrical release on 3 March, with streaming on Netflix beginning 20 March. The accompanying soundtrack will also be released on the same day via Milan Records.

Chatten’s rendition of “Angel” is one of two Massive Attack covers featured on the soundtrack. The other, “Teardrop,” is performed by Irish singer Girl In The Year Above. The album also boasts a blend of new compositions and reimagined classics, including:

  • A new original track by Amy Taylor

  • A freshly recorded version of Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand”

  • Chatten’s collaboration with Lankum on “Hunting The Wren”

Ahead of the full release, the lead single “Puppet”—co-written by Chatten alongside Peaky Blinders composers Antony Genn and Martin Slattery—was unveiled, offering a preview of the soundtrack’s unique blend of atmospheric reinterpretations and original material.
