Heeseung Departs Enhypen to Pursue Solo Career

South Korean K-pop sensation Heeseung has decided to embark on a solo career, stepping away from the immensely popular boy band Enhypen. The announcement came on Tuesday via the group’s label, Belift Lab, which confirmed that while Heeseung’s path will diverge, the remaining six members will continue their activities as Enhypen.

The 24-year-old artist has already begun work on his debut solo album. In a statement, Belift Lab explained, “Following extensive discussions with the members and a careful review of future directions, it became clear that Heeseung possesses a unique musical vision. We respect and support this vision wholeheartedly.” The label added, “A brief notice cannot convey the full context of the process. This decision was made after thorough consideration, understanding that it may come as a surprise and provoke mixed reactions. Nevertheless, it was made in the best interests of both Enhypen and Heeseung’s future.”

Heeseung’s journey began in 2020 when he rose to prominence as a participant on the competitive Korean series I-Land, which formed Enhypen. Following the announcement, he addressed his fans on the platform Weverse, writing, “The past six years have been filled with countless memories, the brightest and most treasured of my life. I will never forget them, and I will always support Enhypen.”

Heeseung expressed gratitude to his former bandmates and fans, explaining that his departure is motivated by a desire to explore personal musical endeavours. “I am working diligently on my new project and aim to return to my fans as soon as possible with an even more refined version of myself. The love of ENGENEs will always remain in my heart,” he said.

The remaining Enhypen members also took to social media to voice their support, stating, “We respect and support Heeseung’s new journey. Enhypen will continue to grow stronger and cherish every moment ahead.”
