Sequence of Events
According to eyewitness accounts, the station area was moderately busy in the late afternoon, as it regularly becomes a gathering spot for residents from nearby villages. Tofael was present with a group of friends when the incident unfolded.
At that time, the Chattala Express had just passed through one line of the station. Simultaneously, the Subarna Express was approaching at speed on the adjacent track towards Chattogram. However, in doing so, he was struck almost instantly by the oncoming Subarna Express. The impact threw him several feet away, leaving him critically injured.
He was swiftly rescued by his friends and local bystanders and taken to Kasba Upazila Health Complex, where attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
