After a hiatus of nearly nine years, renowned Bangladeshi musicians Imran Mahmudul and Zarin Tasnim Naomi have come together once again, delighting fans both on stage and in the recording studio. Their reunion has generated widespread excitement among music enthusiasts across Bangladesh, who fondly recall their earlier collaborations. Both artists began their careers through popular reality music shows—Channel i’s Shera Kontho and Khude Gaanraj—and have now reunited to create a fresh musical project.
Their first collaboration was for the soundtrack of the film Hridoyer Simana, followed by the hit song Onomona in 2015. Onomona featured lyrics by Zahid Akbar, music composition and arrangement by Imran Mahmudul, and a music video directed by Sakhawat Manik, released under the CD Choice banner.
Currently residing in Canada, Naomi recently returned to Bangladesh to record a new song with Imran. The recording session took place on the night of 21 February 2026 in Imran Mahmudul’s personal studio. Although the title of the new track has not yet been finalised, anticipation among fans is palpable.
Speaking about the reunion, Imran Mahmudul remarked:
“After such a long time, Naomi has returned to the country. These days, coming together isn’t easy, so I thought creating a song with her would be wonderful. Like our previous original tracks and film songs, I believe this will capture the hearts of our audience. Fans have been asking for something new, and I hope we can deliver more music together in the future.”
Naomi added:
“Imran has always kept in touch, and I’m grateful for that. I often reflect on the early days of my career—they were truly beautiful. Returning to Bangladesh and being invited by Imran to record this new song has been a fantastic experience. I look forward to creating more music and, if possible, producing some music videos in Canada as well.”
