Imran, Nancy Reunite for New Film Song

Popular Bangladeshi singers Imran Mahmudul and Nazmun Munira Nancy have reunited for a film playback song after a lengthy hiatus, lending their voices to a romantic duet for the upcoming feature film Shikar.

The song, titled “Dujon Mile Bachbo Ek Jibon” (“Together We Will Live One Life”), has been recorded for Shikar, a thriller directed by Kamruzzaman Roman. The track marks the return of one of Bangladesh’s well-known playback pairings and has already generated considerable interest among music lovers and the local film industry.

Penned by lyricist Kabir Bakul, the romantic number has been composed and arranged by Imran Mahmudul himself. Recording for the song was completed last Sunday, according to those involved with the production.

The reunion has been welcomed by fans, as both artists have delivered several memorable playback songs over the years. Their distinct vocal styles have often complemented each other, making their collaborations popular among audiences and contributing to the soundtrack of numerous Bangladeshi films and television productions.

Expressing her excitement about the project, Nancy said working with Imran has always been an enjoyable experience.

“Working with Imran is always a pleasure. The lyrics and melody of this song are truly captivating, and I believe they will touch the hearts of listeners. It feels wonderful to return with a quality film song after such a long break,” she said.

Imran echoed those sentiments, praising his fellow singer and expressing confidence in the new release.

“Nancy is one of the strongest voices in Bangla music. Singing a duet with her is always a special experience. I am very optimistic about this new song,” he said.

Beyond serving as the film’s soundtrack, the duet also represents a notable collaboration between two artists who have each built successful careers in Bangladesh’s music industry. Nancy has earned widespread acclaim for her emotive singing and has remained a familiar voice in modern Bangla music for many years. Imran, meanwhile, has established himself not only as a singer but also as a composer and music director, creating numerous popular songs for films, television dramas and independent music projects.

The combination of Kabir Bakul’s lyrics and Imran’s composition is expected to give the song a contemporary romantic feel while maintaining the emotional depth traditionally associated with Bangladeshi film music.

Shikar will feature actors Apu Biswas and Murtaza Palash in the lead roles. The film is being produced as a thriller, a genre that has gained increasing popularity in Bangladesh in recent years as filmmakers continue to explore more diverse storytelling styles beyond conventional romantic dramas.

According to the production team, filming is expected to begin shortly in Nepal, where the entire shoot is planned to take place. The country’s dramatic mountain landscapes and scenic locations are expected to provide the backdrop for the film’s story, with the overseas schedule covering the complete principal photography.

The cast also includes Mahmudul Islam Mithu, Rashed Mamun Apu and several other performers in supporting roles.

The release of a new duet by Imran and Nancy is likely to add further anticipation ahead of the film’s premiere. Music has traditionally played a significant role in the success of Bangladeshi cinema, with memorable soundtrack songs often becoming popular long before a film reaches audiences.

As production on Shikar moves towards its filming stage, expectations are growing not only for the thriller itself but also for its soundtrack. With two of the country’s most recognised playback singers reuniting after a long interval, “Dujon Mile Bachbo Ek Jibon” is expected to attract considerable attention from fans eager to hear the pair share the microphone once again.
