India–Pakistan Placed Together in U19 Asia Cup

The eagerly anticipated Under-19 Asia Cup, featuring eight national teams, is scheduled to commence this December, with participating nations divided into two groups. Bangladesh have once again been placed in Group B, alongside Afghanistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, setting up a competitive series of fixtures for the Young Tigers.

Although Afghanistan are officially designated as the hosts, all matches will be played in the United Arab Emirates, with the tournament beginning on 12 December. The opening match will see India face the UAE at the ICC Academy Ground, signalling the start of what promises to be an exciting competition for Asia’s emerging cricket talent.

Bangladesh are set to begin their campaign on 13 December against Afghanistan at the ICC Academy Ground. Their second group match is scheduled for 15 December against Nepal at The Sevens Stadium. The Young Tigers will close their group-stage fixtures on 17 December with a match against Sri Lanka, once again at the ICC Academy Ground. These matches will provide an early test of Bangladesh’s young squad, offering opportunities for emerging players to stake their claim for future senior selection.

Group A also promises high drama, with India and Pakistan drawn together once more, joined by the UAE and Malaysia. The highly anticipated India–Pakistan clash will take place on 14 December at the ICC Academy Ground, continuing the storied rivalry at the junior level.

The tournament format allows the top two teams from each group to advance to the semi-finals, which are scheduled for 19 December. The final will be held on 21 December at the ICC Academy Ground. All matches are set to begin at 9 pm Gulf Standard Time, enabling prime-time viewing for regional audiences.
