Limon Placed on Five-Day Remand in Rajshahi Judge’s Son Murder Case

Limon Mia, 35, has been placed on a five-day remand in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Tawsif Rahman Suman, son of Rajshahi Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Abdur Rahman. The accused is alleged to have entered a house and carried out the killing.

On Saturday, 15 November, Limon Mia was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court, where Judge Mamunur Rashid approved a five-day remand, slightly shorter than the seven days requested by the police. The development was confirmed by Rajshahi Metropolitan Court Inspector Abdur Rafiq.

Limon Mia, the son of H. M. Solaiman Shahid from Madanerpaar under Fulchhari Police Station in Gaibandha, had earlier been taken into custody in the case filed by the victim’s father. He was brought to court from Rajshahi Medical College (RAMEC) Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment following the incident.

The tragic event occurred on Thursday, 13 November, in a rented house in the Dabtal area of Rajshahi city. Tawsif was fatally attacked during the incident, while Limon Mia and the victim’s mother, Tasmin Nahar Lusi, also sustained injuries and were admitted to RAMEC Hospital. Following the death of Tawsif, his father filed a murder case against Limon Mia on Friday, 14 November, at Rajpara Police Station. Earlier that day, after the completion of the autopsy, the family transported Tawsif’s body from RAMEC Hospital to Jamalpur for burial.
