In a shocking incident that has left the Bogura community reeling, Pintu Akand (35), owner of a local lotto showroom, was brutally murdered after being abducted by a gang of criminals. Within hours of the kidnapping, police traced and recovered the microbus used in the crime from the Kumarpur area of Adamdighi Upazila, where the victim’s body was also discovered.
The body of Pintu Akand, a resident of Ranirnagar, Naogaon district, was recovered at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Monday, 22 December. Police reports indicate that the abduction occurred around 9:08 p.m. the previous evening. According to officials, a white Hino microbus stopped in front of the lotto showroom in Dupchanchia Upazila, from which four masked men emerged. One of the assailants brandished a firearm to gain entry into the showroom, forcibly dragging Pintu Akand out and compelling him into the microbus. The gang then fled along the Bogura–Naogaon Regional Highway towards Adamdighi Upazila.
CCTV footage from the scene captures the entire episode, showing the masked assailants moving quickly and efficiently while escorting the victim into the vehicle. Eyewitness accounts and video evidence indicate that the criminals were organised and executed the abduction with alarming precision.
