In a tragic incident in Gazipur, the lifeless body of a young madrasah student, Mohammad Habibullah, aged 12, was discovered hanging in a toilet at Al Abrar International Hifz Madrasah in the Kalyanpur area. The grim discovery was made on Tuesday evening, 13 January, near the Kalyanpur Bypass.

Habibullah, a resident student of the madrasah’s Hifz division, was the son of Hamidul Islam from Keshabpur in Jashore. He had been enrolled at the institution several years ago at the request of his family. According to sources from the madrasah and the local police, the boy had gone to the toilet around 3:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon.

When he did not emerge for an unusually long period, teachers instructed the caretaker to check on him. Upon forcibly entering the toilet, they were horrified to find Habibullah hanging from a towel, already lifeless. Authorities were immediately notified, and the body was retrieved from the scene by police.

Kaliganj Police Sub-Inspector Faizur Rahman confirmed the incident, stating, “The body has been recovered and brought to the police station. It will be sent for post-mortem examination. Legal procedures are ongoing in relation to this case.”
