“March for Justice” Begins From Shahbagh

On Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., the “March for Justice” organised by the Inquilab Mancha commenced from Shahbagh in Dhaka, drawing the attention of both activists and citizens alike. Speaking to the media, Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman stated that the march aims to secure full implementation of four key demands, including justice for a recent murder case that has ignited public outrage.

The route of the march will traverse several major areas of the city. Beginning at Shahbagh, the procession is scheduled to pass through Science Lab, City College, Mohammadpur-Tin-Rasta, Rayerbazar-Badhbhumi, Mirpur 10, Uttara, Bashundhara, Badda, Rampura, and Jatrabari before returning to Shahbagh in the evening.

Participants included leaders and activists of Inquilab Mancha riding on pick-up trucks, along with representatives of various social and political organisations and ordinary citizens expressing solidarity.

Sharif Osman emphasised, “We demand a society where justice is guaranteed and citizens can live safely. If these four demands are not implemented promptly, our movement will intensify further.”

The four-point agenda of Inquilab Mancha is summarised below:

The “March for Justice” has resonated across Bangladesh’s social and political spheres, not merely as a call for accountability in a high-profile murder case, but as a symbol of broader social justice. Analysts note that its success could set a precedent for citizen-led demands for legal accountability and civic safety in the country.
