Megan Thee Stallion Falls Ill on Broadway

Megan Thee Stallion has been rushed to hospital after suddenly falling “very ill” during a performance of Moulin Rouge! The Musical in New York City.

The 31-year-old Texas-born rapper and actor, born Megan Pete, is making her Broadway debut as Zidler in the production, which is scheduled to run for eight weeks until 17 May.

A representative confirmed that Megan became unwell during Tuesday night’s performance, 31 March, stating: “Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available.”

Her hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital,” prompting an outpouring of support from fans. Details of her current condition have not yet been made public.

Megan’s casting as Zidler has been widely celebrated, as she is the first female-identifying performer to play the role globally. Following her debut performance in March, she expressed her excitement on social media: “So grateful for this incredible cast & crew & everyone who worked so hard to make opening night a success!! HOTTIES IM ON BROADWAY!!”

Critics have praised Megan’s commanding presence on stage, noting that she brings her signature confidence and energy to the role: “From the moment she strides onto the stage, the Houston native feels right at home as the evening’s emcee, anchoring the high-energy production with the same poise and charisma that have defined her music career,” one review stated.
