Grammy-winning singer Megan Trainor is once again making headlines—but this time, not solely for her music. Known globally for chart-topping hits such as All About That Bass and Dear Future Husband, the 32-year-old pop sensation has captivated fans with a personal journey of health and transformation, having lost an astonishing 60 pounds, approximately 27 kilograms, after facing a significant medical challenge.
Megan has revealed that her journey toward fitness began during her second pregnancy when she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Reflecting on the turning point, she shared, “I realised that if I wanted to live life to the fullest, continue touring, and raise my children in good health, I first needed to take control of my own well-being. I wanted to be strong—both physically and mentally.”
A devoted mother to two children, Riley, 4, and Barry, 2, Megan balances family life alongside her husband, Daryl Sabara, while remaining acutely aware of her health and hormonal balance. “I am very mindful of my hormones and overall health,” she admitted, highlighting the discipline and focus she maintains despite a busy schedule.
Born on 22 December 1993 in Nantucket, Massachusetts, Megan began writing songs at the age of 11. Initially performing her own compositions, she considered herself primarily a songwriter before achieving global fame as a performer.
Despite her impressive transformation, Megan has faced her share of public scrutiny. She acknowledged, “Seeing my own transformation for the first time was incredible, but suddenly hearing so much negativity was surprising.” She has countered such criticism through therapy and by channeling her experiences into new music, including her latest single STOOL Don’t Care, which reflects her journey of self-discovery and resilience.
Post-pregnancy, Megan and Daryl have prioritised health and fitness, following medical guidance and structured routines. Her disciplined regimen includes attending the gym three times a week, maintaining a nutritious diet, and moderating coffee intake to aid digestion—demonstrating the meticulous care she invests in her well-being.
“I genuinely feel amazing now. I’ve learned to love myself, and there’s no shame in saying that,” Megan confessed. Her candidness, discipline, and self-love have not only inspired her global fanbase but also reinforced a powerful message: personal transformation is possible, even amidst life’s most challenging phases.
