A 22-year-old motorcyclist, Md. Ratul, tragically lost his life after being hit by a speeding e-rickshaw in Tongi, Gazipur. Ratul was employed at a private hospital in Tongi.
The accident occurred on Monday evening (10 November) at the Mollar Garage area on the Tongi-Kaligangj regional road.
Ratul, a resident of Gajibari Pukurpara under Tongi East Police Station, was the son of a man named Babu.
Eyewitnesses reported that Ratul was riding his motorcycle from Tongi towards Pubail when a reckless, fast-moving e-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction collided with him. The impact threw Ratul off his motorcycle, leaving him critically injured.
Local residents rushed him to Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Md. Wahiduzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Tongi East Police Station, confirmed the incident and stated that the police have been dispatched to the scene. Legal proceedings in connection with the accident are currently underway.
