Nabin Fashion has announced that all its branches, except the Moghbazar outlet, will remain operational, accompanied by special offers for customers ahead of Eid. The announcement was made via a Facebook post on Wednesday (25 March), confirming the continuation of Eid celebrations across its other locations.
In the post, the management stated, “Although the Moghbazar branch was forcibly closed on the eve of Eid, this year’s festive celebrations will continue for 15 days—Insha’Allah. Under the initiative of MP Hasnat Abdullah and Helal Saheb, President of the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association, Nabin Fashion’s Managing Director will share the festive spirit through Facebook Live from Chaina, showcasing our other branches along with attractive offers—Insha’Allah.”
Owner Leaves Country Amid Dispute
The announcement comes shortly after Nabin Fashion owner Enamul Hasan Nabin left Dhaka amidst growing tension and public debate. In his Facebook post, Nabin wrote, “I want to live like a lion, but I do not wish for my children to be orphaned by the bullets of syndicates. Therefore, I am leaving the country. Insha’Allah, I may return once the situation stabilises.”
Earlier, on Tuesday afternoon, Nabin had held a press conference at the Moghbazar outlet to declare his decision to leave the country. During the conference, he stated that the company’s primary goal was to sell products to customers at fair prices. “If this commitment faces obstacles, we are prepared to close operations and I will return abroad. I believe business in Bangladesh under such conditions is unsustainable,” he remarked.
Background: Price Dispute Sparks Closure
The closure of the Moghbazar branch followed a social media video on 20 March showing nearby shopkeepers forcibly shutting down the store. The dispute reportedly arose because Nabin Fashion was selling traditional Panjabis at lower prices, which neighbouring traders claimed undercut the market and likened to offering undue “relief” to customers.

Despite the temporary closure of the Moghbazar outlet, Nabin Fashion appears committed to maintaining its festive celebrations and promotional offers in other locations, hoping to provide uninterrupted service to customers this Eid. The ongoing tension reflects the challenges faced by businesses attempting to balance competitive pricing with local market dynamics.
