National Life Disburses Tk37.5 Crore Insurance Claims

National Life Insurance has successfully disbursed insurance claims amounting to Tk37.5 crore to its customers in the Greater Dhaka area. The cheque distribution ceremony took place on Saturday, 20 December, at the company’s annual ‘Year-End Planning’ meeting held at Fantasy Kingdom, Ashulia. The event was attended by key customers as well as the company’s development officers.

The ceremony was graced by the company’s Chairman, Mr Tofazzal Hossain, as the chief guest, while the meeting was presided over by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Md. Kazim Uddin. Special guests included Mr Khasru Chowdhury, Additional Managing Director; Mr Abul Kashem and Mr Khurshid Alam Patwari, Deputy Managing Directors; Mr Bahar Uddin Majumdar, Assistant Managing Director; Mr Enamul Haque, Senior Executive Vice President; Mr Monir Ahmed, Senior Vice President; and Mr G.M. Helal Uddin, Takaful Central Co-ordinator.

Notably, around 5,000 development officers from the Greater Dhaka region attended the event, reflecting the company’s extensive network and commitment to customer support.

Chairman Tofazzal Hossain highlighted the critical role of insurance in Bangladesh’s economic growth. “Insurance provides substantial financial resources which, when channelled through the banking sector, fuel industrial and commercial investment. This, in turn, generates employment. National Life plays a significant role in the country’s economic development,” he said.

CEO Md. Kazim Uddin emphasised the company’s commitment to swift claims settlement. “National Life prioritises timely payment of customer claims. On average, we disburse over Tk100 crore in claims every month. By 2025, our total claims settlement is projected to reach Tk1,500 crore,” he stated.

The ceremony also included awards recognising outstanding contributions by the company’s insurance officers. Attendees expressed optimism that 2025 would see further improvement in customer satisfaction and the expansion of insurance services nationwide.
