Niloy Ahmed Devotes Life to Music

Rising star Niloy Ahmed is steadily carving out a distinctive identity in Bangladesh’s contemporary music scene. Recently, he captivated audiences with the soulful track “Hai Mon”, created for the web series Atka. This opportunity arose through his long-standing collaboration with director, composer, and orchestrator Arafat Mohsin Nidhi, who played a pivotal role in the song’s conception and production.

Reflecting on the opportunity, Niloy shared,
“When Nidhi was conceptualising Atka, he offered me the chance to lend my voice to this song. Given our prior collaborations, I accepted without hesitation. Once the production house Chorki approved, the song was finalised.”

Playback Experience for Web Series

Niloy highlighted the nuanced difference between standard audio recording and playback singing:
“Technically, the process of singing remains similar, but playback requires careful consideration of the character’s perspective and narrative context. These elements significantly influence the song’s mood and emotion.”

He added, “Whether it’s a film, drama, or web series, the creative freedom in music remains consistent across mediums.”

Audience Reception

Upon release, “Hai Mon” received widespread acclaim. Renowned lyricist Tanmoy Parvez, composer Arafat Mohsin Nidhi, and vocalist Raba Khan all praised the song. Niloy remarked,
“The audience’s appreciation is the greatest reward for any artist.”

Past and Recent Playback Projects

Niloy traced his musical journey:
“After singing for films like Hello Amit and 36-24-36, working on a web series was a refreshing experience. I’ve dreamt of being a playback singer since childhood. Opportunities with D’R Star, albums, and television commercials helped, but playback singing truly fulfils my ambition.”

He emphasised,
“Despite recognition, I explore all musical avenues. Meeting the audience’s expectations remains my primary goal. This led me to leave my job and devote myself entirely to music.”

Niloy has recently completed work on Moyna and recorded a duet “O Jan” with vocalist Konal, promising a cinematic musical experience.
