According to police sources, the incident took place on Wednesday, 11 March, around 2:30 a.m., on the highway in Valuka Thana, Mymensingh district. Unidentified robbers seized a truck loaded with nineteen cows. During the operation, the culprits restrained the truck driver, helper, herdsman, and the cattle owners, abandoning them later in the Square Masterbari area.
Upon receiving information, the Gazipur Sadar police quickly established a checkpoint along the highway. Shortly thereafter, a suspicious truck travelling towards Dhaka was spotted. Officers signalled for the vehicle to stop, but the suspects ignored the order and attempted to flee at high speed. The night patrol team maintained radio communication with other units, coordinating a chase to intercept the truck.
Eventually, near the Forest Office, another police unit signalled the truck to stop. By approximately 3:10 a.m., the suspects abandoned the vehicle by the roadside under cover of darkness and escaped on foot.
