The schedule for the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in Bangladesh has finally been released, providing students, parents, and educators with a clear timeline for the upcoming academic assessments. According to the announcement, the main written examinations will commence on 21 April 2026 and conclude on 20 May 2026, while practical examinations are to be completed between 7 June and 14 June 2026.
The schedule was formally unveiled on Thursday, 15 January 2026, by Professor S.M. Kamal Uddin Haider, Controller of Examinations of the Dhaka Education Board and Chair of the Inter-Education Board Examination Committee. Typically, the SSC examinations begin in February each year; however, slight adjustments have been made this year compared to previous years.
Main Examination Schedule
| Examination Type | Start Date | End Date | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Theoretical Exam | 21 April | 20 May | From 10:00 am |
| Practical Exam | 7 June | 14 June | According to respective centres |
To ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the examinations, the Education Board has issued detailed guidelines for candidates:
Students must arrive at the examination hall 30 minutes prior to the start of their exam.
All examinations must be completed within the time specified on the question paper.
Each subject will have two components: a multiple-choice section followed by a creative or descriptive section, with no break in between.
Candidates are required to collect their admission cards from their institution at least three days before the exams begin.
Marks for Physical Education, Health Science, Sports, and Career Education must be submitted to the respective centres and uploaded online alongside practical exam results.
Answer scripts must include correct roll numbers, registration numbers, and subject codes, with all OMR circles accurately filled; folding of scripts is strictly prohibited.
Candidates must pass separately in the theoretical, multiple-choice, and practical components.
Students are only permitted to sit for exams in the subjects they are registered for.
Admission cards should be distributed seven days prior to the start of examinations.
Only board-approved calculators are allowed, and mobile phones are strictly prohibited except for examination centre staff.
The same attendance sheet must be used for each exam session.
Practical examinations will be held at designated centres.
Applications for rechecking of results must be submitted online within seven days of publication, with details available on the Board’s website and in newspapers.
With this official schedule, candidates can plan their preparation effectively, ensuring adequate time for both theoretical revision and practical exam readiness. Collecting admission cards a month in advance and completing practical preparation well before the deadlines will allow students to approach the examinations with confidence and organisation.
