In a critical medical operation, Osman Hadi, the convenor of Inqilab Manch and prospective independent candidate for Dhaka-8, is being transported to Singapore today via an air ambulance after suffering a gunshot injury to the head.
Inqilab Manch officials confirmed that the specially arranged air ambulance for Osman Hadi has reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Accompanying him will be his two elder brothers, Omar Faruk and Abu Bakar Siddiq, who will provide crucial family support during the transfer.
Abdullah Al Jaber, the member-secretary of Inqilab Manch, told Prothom Alo that the travel party has been finalised, with only the two brothers confirmed at this stage. No additional companions have yet been approved for the journey.
He further explained the logistics of the transfer: “Osman Hadi will be moved from Evercare Hospital to the airport in an ICU ambulance via road. From there, he will be airlifted to Singapore. The full transfer process is expected to be completed by early afternoon today.”
This decision follows a Sunday evening emergency teleconference, which included Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus’ Cultural Adviser Mostafa Sarwar Faruki, Special Assistant on Health Affairs Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Evercare specialist doctors including Dr. Zafar, and Osman Hadi’s elder brother Omar Hadi. After detailed consultations, the group concluded that Singapore offered the best treatment options for Osman Hadi’s critical condition.
In the past two days, the government had explored hospitals in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia to ensure the highest standard of care. Once the Evercare Hospital specialists provided their advice, the family and Chief Adviser were briefed, and immediate arrangements were made for the airlift.
The Chief Adviser’s press wing has confirmed that the state will cover all medical costs for Osman Hadi. Moreover, the Chief Adviser has instructed authorities to monitor the patient’s condition continuously and has appealed to the nation to pray for his rapid recovery.
This high-profile medical evacuation underscores both the severity of Osman Hadi’s injury and the state’s commitment to ensuring that prominent national figures receive the best possible care abroad.
