Overcast Skies and Morning Mist in Dhaka

Residents of the capital can expect predominantly overcast skies throughout the day, accompanied by light mist in certain areas, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). Meteorologists have forecast that from 7:00 am over the next six hours, the sky will remain mostly cloudy, though the likelihood of rainfall is negligible. By midday, conditions may become partly cloudy in some districts.

The BMD also reported that light winds will blow from the north and northwest at a speed of 5–10 kilometres per hour. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged compared with the past few days. This weather may create a slightly cool sensation, particularly in the evening and at night.

Temperature and Humidity: This morning, Dhaka recorded a minimum temperature of 17.1°C. At 6:00 am, the temperature was 17.2°C with relative humidity at 87 per cent. Despite the light mist and cloud cover, meteorologists have assured that daily activities are unlikely to be significantly affected, though some caution is advised for early-morning and evening travel.

According to BMD experts, over the next 24 hours, skies are expected to remain unsettled not only in Dhaka but also in other districts of the Dhaka Division. Although rainfall is unlikely, light mist and cloud presence during the night and early morning may reduce visibility, especially outside the city. Drivers are therefore advised to exercise extra caution during these periods.

Government meteorological data indicates that daytime conditions will be mainly dry and mildly cool. Nighttime humidity may rise, creating a slightly chilly atmosphere. Meteorologists recommend that those venturing outdoors in the early morning or evening wear warm clothing and remain alert to reduced visibility on roads.

Overall, today’s weather is unlikely to disrupt daily life in Dhaka. Nevertheless, for safety reasons, it is advisable to take precautions when driving or engaging in outdoor activities in the early morning and late evening.
