The cricket rivalry between Bangladesh and Pakistan is set to reach new heights as the Pakistan national team prepares to tour Bangladesh next year for a comprehensive five-match One Day International (ODI) series. This highly anticipated fixture follows a remarkable shift in competitive dynamics, with the Tigers securing historic victories against Pakistan across all formats, including a historic Test series win on Pakistani soil. To commercialise these upcoming high-profile events, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) and financial proposals for several bilateral home series scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
The comprehensive international schedule includes a series against India, a two-Test tour by the West Indies, a two-Test visit from England, and the headline five-match ODI clash with Pakistan. According to the administrative timeline outlined by the board, the encounters against India and the West Indies are slated for later this year. Meanwhile, the crucial home series against England and Pakistan are programmed to take place next year, promising a packed calendar for local cricket enthusiasts.
The BCB has issued formal tender notices to secure broadcasting and commercial partners for these four marquee series. Detailed tender documents and packages have been made available at the BCB headquarters from 2 July 2026. Interested corporations, sports marketing agencies, and media broadcasters must submit their final financial proposals and compliance documentation to the board by 22 July 2026.
Historically, Pakistan has dominated the 50-over format against Bangladesh. The two nations have faced each other 42 times in ODIs, with Pakistan emerging victorious on 35 occasions. Bangladesh has claimed victory in seven matches. Crucially, almost all of Bangladesh’s seven wins have been achieved in recent years. This modern shift demonstrates how significantly the gap between the two teams has narrowed, making the upcoming five-match series a highly competitive and fiercely contested affair.
