Petrol Bomb Attacks Target Public Works and Grameen Bank in Gopalganj

In Gopalganj, petrol bombs were thrown at the Public Works Department office and a branch of Grameen Bank early on Thursday (13 November). According to police, at around 4:30 am, unidentified individuals hurled at least ten petrol bombs at the wall and a pick-up van of the Public Works Department office, causing the van to catch fire. The office guard, with assistance from local residents, brought the fire under control.

Additionally, late at night, petrol bombs were thrown at the Ulpur branch of Grameen Bank in the Sadar Upazila. Police reported that the attackers, travelling in a black microbus, threw five to six petrol bombs, one of which exploded. No damage was reported to the bank building.

Meanwhile, at around 3:30 am, unidentified individuals blocked the Dhaka–Khulna Highway in Chandradighalia, Sadar Upazila, by placing trees on the road. Vehicles were temporarily unable to pass. Police and military personnel responded promptly, removing the obstacles and restoring traffic flow.

Authorities have ensured public safety, and the police are investigating the incidents to identify the culprits and prevent further attacks.
